Children, Pregnant Women Urged To Take Blood Tests For Lead After Notre-Dame Fire
The health authorities in Paris have urged the children and pregnant women living around the Notre-Dame cathedral which was left devastated in heavy fire that broke out last month to have the levels of lead in their blood checked.
The appeal from the authorities comes after high levels of lead were found in blood of a child living on the Ile de la island in central Paris. In the fire, hundreds of tonnes of lead in roof and the spire melted in the extreme fire and now the authorities have launched an investigation to check whether the reason for high levels of lead in child’s blood could be other than the fire that broke out April 15, the Paris regional health authorities said in the statement on Monday.
