Defence Minister Flays Politicians Who Blame Women’s Dress From Rape, Call It Ridiculous

Blaming the dress of the victim for getting raped is nothing new in India. Time and again it has been used to blame and shame the victim for ‘her fault’ of getting raped.

Now taking a strong stand against it, Defence Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman has said that it is ridiculous to blame the woman’s attire is the reason behind rape. She questioned that if thedress is the reason, then why are old women or toddlers sexually abused.
