Tearful Asbury Park Native Wendy Williams: 'What Am I Doing?'

Asbury Park native Wendy Williams appeared on satellite radio recently and struggled to get through an interview, but she did say this: “I’m happy.”

But she did tearfully say: “What am I doing?”

Williams talked about her separation from husband Kevin Hunter on Sirius XM’s “Karen Hunter Show” this past week to say she’s “at peace with the world”

But she also struggled through the interview to say that she doesn’t consider herself “Wendy Williams” anymore.

“No, my name is Wendy Hunter. That’s my son’s name. And you can’t take away….” before trailing off into tears.

Williams said she’s learned how to get along without her husband, and how to protect herself. “The cops aren’t protecting me so I’ve learned how to run,” she said. “You don’t want to get splash in the face.”

But even as she declared her happiness, she still struggled to get through the interview without breaking down. “What am I doing?” she asked the end of the clip.
