In addition to Charlotte Flair vs. Sonya Deville and the Cesaro & Sheamus vs. Rusev & Aiden English tag team number one contender’s match, WWE is teasing Jeff Hardy vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for Tuesday’s SmackDown. Hardy tweeted today: “Before I dive deep into Hell…I shall CLEANSE my soul. @ShinsukeN still lingers..so This Tuesday…He must be rendered #OBSOLETE”
“Mick Foley: 20 Years of Hell” will debut on the WWE Network after the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view on September 16. Foley has been touring a one-man show to mark the 20th anniversary of his Hell in a Cell match against The Undertaker at King of the Ring 1998, and WWE filmed one of them to air on the Network. Foley (and Triple H) will also be appearing on this coming Monday’s Raw to promote Triple H vs. Undertaker at WWE Super Show-Down.
A new episode of WWE Story Time will air on the Network after Raw on Monday.
WWE stock closed this week at $87.02 per share. They’ve been flirting with $90 but have yet to reach the number. The company’s market capitalization is currently at $6.79 billion.
Matt Riddle tweeted a video of Dana White insulting him from years ago and questioning where Riddle could go to make the same money he did in the UFC. Riddle wrote in the tweet: “Hey Dana remember that time you fired me and talked all that sh*t on me to the world and called me a loser? I just wanted to say thank you for everything dummy.” Riddle, who has yet to make his NXT debut, also noted that he was backstage at last night’s NXT house show in Daytona Beach, Florida.
Lana took exception to her character model for WWE 2K19: “Who is this ?????? Never have I worn that gear or wrestled with short hair so I am very confused who this women is.”
Drake Maverick uploaded a video where he gave a storyline explanation for why he’s now managing The Authors of Pain. He said that, like with 205 Live, he recognizes untapped potential when he sees it. He said he’ll empower AOP’s sadistic instincts and is unleashing them on every tag team on Raw.

Nick Aldis will face Doug Williams at Wrestling MediaCon tomorrow. The story for the match is that the winner will challenge for Cody’s NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship at next month’s NWA 70th Anniversary show.
NXT’s Velveteen Dream defeated Austin Theory in a 14-minute dark match main event at EVOLVE 112 in Joppa, Maryland last night. Dream, who started his career in Maryland with MCW, cut a post-match promo where he thanked the fans, praised EVOLVE, and said he’s sure he’ll be wrestling Theory in NXT at some point. Dream is facing Darby Allin in a dark match at EVOLVE 113 in Queens, New York tonight.
Rich Swann, Yoh, KUSHIDA, David Starr, Sho, Rocky Romero, El Phantasmo, and Jushin Thunder Liger won their first round British J-Cup matches at today’s Revolution Pro Wrestling show in Manchester. The remainder of the tournament will take place tomorrow. Swann vs. Yoh, KUSHIDA vs. Starr, Sho vs. Romero, and Liger vs. Phantasmo are set for the next round.
Flamita & Bandido will face Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher & Mark Davis) in a non-tournament match at tomorrow’s British J-Cup show.
Allysin Kay (Sienna) defeated Mercedes Martinez in the finals of Shine’s tournament today to become the new Shine Champion.
Pentagon Jr. & Fenix defended their Tag Team titles against Drago & Rey Horus in the main event of this week’s MLW Fusion episode.
UFC/MMA
John Dodson vs. Jimmie Rivera was added to tonight’s UFC 228 main card after Nicco Montano vs. Valentina Shevchenko was canceled.
The UFC uploaded episodes five and six of Embedded for tonight’s PPV.
Dana White confirmed that Colby Covington will get the next shot at whoever wins tonight’s Tyron Woodley vs. Darren Till main event.
White said the UFC is planning a couple of press conferences to promote Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor.
Jessica Andrade wants to defeat Karolina Kowalkiewicz tonight and then challenge for Rose Namajunas’ strawweight title at UFC 232 in December.
Ariel Helwani reported that former UFC fighter Erick Silva will face Lorenz Larkin in a Welterweight Grand Prix alternate fight at Bellator’s show in Uncasville, Connecticut on October 12.
