WOW Owner Says Women Will Be Protected, Eva Marie’s New Look
One of the announcements that was made during All Elite Wrestling’s Double or Nothing rally from earlier in the month had to do with insurance for the performers. It was noted during the rally that wrestlers will be covered for any injuries that take place in an AEW ring. In addition to All Elite Wrestling, another key promotion set to launch later on this year is Women of Wrestling. The new show will be premiering on AXS TV later this month, and co-owner David McLane was brought in recently to discuss working on the new promotion. It was during the interview when he revealed that his promotion will also cover insurance for each of the members of the roster once it begins airing the shows very soon.
McLane appeared for an interview with Wrestling Inc. earlier this week to discuss some of his goals and plans for WOW in 2019. During the interview, he stated that officials working for WOW are very concerned for the safety and health of their performers, and as such, they already provide them free coverage. McLane owns the new promotion with Lakers owner Jeanie Buss, who he says made it a top priority to make sure that the women in WOW are being taken care of. In addition to looking after their performers, McLane is hoping to see WOW begin selling merchandise in major retail stores and begin touring the promotion across the United States. WOW will begin airing on AXS TV on January 18th.
“Each of our wrestlers has already and always been insured. Unlike any other wrestling organization, we have full coverage for the talent if they get injured, and many of the performers appreciate that. Say thank you to Jeanie Buss for that.” McLane said.
Former WWE Superstar Eva Marie has been in the news lately as she is set to make her return to reality television soon in the upcoming season of Celebrity Big Brother. Wrestling fans instantly recognized Eva because of her bright red hair back when she was wrestling for WWE, but since leaving the company, Maries has gone back to her normal hair color. She adopted a purple color for a time before debuting her new look on social media earlier this week. Eva posted a photo of herself showing that she is now sporting blonde hair. That photo has been posted down below for those interested in seeing the former WWE Superstar’s new look. Meanwhile, Eva Marie’s return to TV takes place on CBS on January 21st at 8pm ET.
