According to WWE through their official website, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin is retired from active competition.
On Monday, WWE’s website ran a feature on how past wrestlers have “said good-bye,” linking up with NBA star Kobe Bryant announcing his retirement over the weekend.
The featured “retirement” is Stone Cold’s last match at WrestleMania 19 against The Rock. It was not a retirement match at the time, but has turned out to be Austin’s final match.
Austin has said over the past few years that he would consider a one-time return to the ring, but it has not materialized. It does not appear that it will materialize at WrestleMania 32 in his home state of Texas, which essentially seals the end of his career.
