RCTC Places Three at the Luther Open

This past Saturday Rochester Community and Technical College competed at the Luther Open in Decorah, IA. This tournament brought in over 360 wrestlers from over 20 teams from NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA schools.

Leading the Yellowjackets was Brett Bradford (Byron, MN). Bradford went 4-1 on the day with three pins in the 157 Elite Bracket.

“Brett is one of those wrestlers who is relentless. He’s relentless on his feet working for the takedown, and when he is on top he is relentless looking for the pin. He had a great day and I’m happy his hard work in the practice room is paying off,” said Coach Randy Rager.

Coltan Laganiere, wrestling unattached, placed 4th in the 157 Elite, along with Chase Nottestad (Westby, WI) at 285.

Also picking up wins on the day were Connor Hanson, Curt Palodichuck, Zach Scott, Dereck Samudio, Dustin Lee, and Ryan Jones.

Luther College Open Results

The Yellowjackets wrestle next at the Augsburg Open on November 21st. Wrestling starts at 9:00 am.
