Raw Women’s Championship Match Announced for HIAC, Neville Update

Ronda Rousey has impressed fans and backstage officials in WWE already during her short time in WWE. The former UFC fighter began her pro wrestling career when she joined WWE earlier this year, and her hard work has definitely paid off since she is currently in the middle of her first run as Raw Women’s Champion. Ronda won the title from Alexa Bliss during their match at SummerSlam earlier this month. The feud between Bliss and Rousey began when Bliss successfully cashed in her Money in the Bank contract during Ronda’s championship match against Nia Jax, costing Rousey the chance to win the title in the process. However, during their recent match, Rousey made short work of Bliss and won the championship.
Of course, Alexa Bliss is not quite ready to move to the back of the line for the championship just yet, which is why it has just been announced by WWE that she is receiving her contractually obligated rematch for the Raw Women’s Championship at the upcoming Hell in a Cell pay-per-view, which could make Rousey’s run as champion very short-lived This will be the second title match between Ronda Rousey and Alexa Bliss. As of right now, the match is only a singles match, but it is possible that a stipulation of some kind could be added on in the near future. The Hell in a Cell event takes place at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, and it will be airing live on the WWE Network on September 16th.

It has now been confirmed by several different sources that former Cruiserweight Champion Neville is gone from WWE and is free to work anywhere he chooses. Nearly every independent promotion and wrestler has indicated that they would be interested in working with Neville soon, but could he be on his way back to WWE? According to PWInsider, the former NXT Champion was spotted in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania last week. This could imply that he met with some WWE officials and talked about possibly coming back to work on a different brand for the company, but is purely speculation at this point. For right now, Neville remains gone from WWE and could be stepping back in the ring any day now.
