WWE UK Talent Banned from Streaming Services, Enzo’s New Look
The WWE roster is about to get whole lot more British over the next few weeks. The company has swiftly responded to the recent resurgence of World of Sport in the United Kingdom by completely refocusing on their UK division. World of Sport’s revival inspired WWE to create last year’s United Kingdom Championship Tournament, but now that the television tapings for WOS have begun, WWE will begin taping the second UK Championship Tournament in England’s Royal Albert Hall next month. WWE announced a slew of brand new wrestlers who will be taking part in the tournament this summer, and it looks like those roster members will be sticking around in WWE for quite some time.
WWE is already taking measures to lockup some of the best talent currently available in the United Kingdom. According to a new report from the Wrestling Observer, WWE’s UK talent will no longer be allowed to compete for promotions with On Demand streaming services. Promotions such as Revolution Pro, RIPTIDE, DEFIANT and Fight Club: Pro will be losing all of the current members of WWE’s UK division. However, the report does note that the UK roster members will still be permitted to wrestle for promotions Insane Championship Wrestling and PROGRESS Wrestling, both of which are prominent UK promotions that WWE has had a working relationship with over the past few months.
It was reported earlier this week that former WWE Superstar Enzo Amore will not be facing any criminal charges over an alleged sexual assault claim that was made earlier this year. The case was dropped due to a lack of evidence. Enzo Amore lost his job in WWE as a result of the allegations, but after the case was suddenly dropped, his attorney posted a statement on Amore’s Twitter account which informed fans that Enzo is pursuing another interest in the entertainment industry. Enzo’s status in wrestling remains uncertain as of now, a video (courtesy of WrestleZone) of Enzo was just uncovered. In the video, Enzo shows off his new look and speaks publicly for the first time since his WWE release earlier this year.
