Daivari Apologizes for GRR Segment, Aro Lucha Taping, Hornswoggle

The winners of the tryouts held in Saudi Arabia prior to WWE’s Greatest Royal Rumble event last week were given the chance to shine during the show by attacking Ariya Daivari and Shawn Daivari. The two Iranian brothers ran down the Saudi WWE signees before running off to the back. Ariya Daivari has just released an official apology for the segment and has reminded fans who were bothered by the segment that he is merely playing a character. The nations of Iran and Saudi Arabia legitimately have a strained relationship with each other at the moment, and death threats have prompted Daivari to officially apologize for what took place during his Greatest Royal Rumble segment.

Unfortunately some people took offense to this despite it being pure entertainment. Some threats were made against my life. I wanted to put this statement out to clarify where I as a person stand compared to my t.v. character. https://t.co/NJbnlMnn28

Former TNA Wrestling producers, Aroluxe, have been building up their new Aro Lucha promotion over the past few months. Konnan and Rey Mysterio are currently helping to bring the promotion to life and are also looking for other investors at the moment. PWInsider has just found out that Aro Lucha TV tapings will take place on June 17th at the Nashville Fairgrounds in Nashville, Tennessee. There have not been any announcements so far concerning the talent involved in the tapings, but they are being billed as “Rey Mysterio & Aro Lucha present…” Aro Lucha will begin taping some more material for their promised first season of TV starting next month.
Hornswoggle was a WWE Superstar for ten years, and he accomplished a lot during his time with the company. Hornswoggle won the Cruiserweight Championship, worked a program with D-Generation X, and was also revealed as the anonymous Raw General Manager. Hornswoggle continues to work on the independent wrestling circuit, and he even made a brief return to WWE when he participated in the 50-man Royal Rumble match at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia last week. ECW Press has just announced that he will be releasing his autobiography Life Is Short – And So Am I in Summer 2019. With ten years of stories from his time with WWE, this book certainly won’t be short on material.
