Reason Why WWE Has Been Registering Multiple Old Trademarks

— WWE has been in the news lately as applying for multiple trademarks, most of them related to the old WCW promotion. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter suggests that the reason the company is filing these trademarks is because they were not happy that MLW beat them to the punch and trademarked War Games, giving MLW the ability to use that term for wrestling related reasons.

— As a result, WWE has now gone and trademarked several old WCW, WCCW and other promotions to prevent this from happening, so seeing them own these terms shouldn’t mean they have any concrete plans to use them in any fashion; just that they don’t want anyone else using them.
