AJ Styles Teases Babyface Turn At Post-WrestleMania 33 Edition Of SD! Live
Although he has been positioned as one of the top heels of the SmackDown Live brand since the most recent WWE draft / brand split, AJ Styles appeared to be teasing a babyface turn during this week’s show.
At Tuesday night’s post-WrestleMania 33 edition of the show, “The Phenomanal One” came down to the ring during a promo segment centered around SmackDown Live Commissioner and Styles’ opponent from this past Sunday night’s show, Shane McMahon.
The former WWE Champion defeated the son of the WWE Chairman at the show dubbed “The Ultimate Thrill Ride Of The Year” this past weekend in what many considered to be among the best matches on the show, as many expected it would be. What didn’t go the way many might have expected was the interaction between the bitter rivals in their first face-to-face meeting since this past Sunday night.
Instead of simply interrupting the head honcho as many might have predicted, especially when he opened up by saying he “owed him something” after their match at WrestleMania 33, Styles quickly changed lanes and revealed that the thing he owed “Shane-O-Mac” was a handshake.
After the two shook hands in a classy sign of respect between foes, Styles took things one step further by making no bones about the fact that he wants no part of switching from SmackDown Live to RAW in next week’s “Superstar Shakeup.”
