Four matches announced for next week's WWE NXT
A Cruiserweight Championship bout and three Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic matches are set for next week’s episode of NXT.
– WWE has announced that Santos Escobar will defend his NXT Cruiserweight Championship against Curt Stallion on NXT next Wednesday. That match was originally set to take place on this week’s show, but there was an angle where it was found that Stallion had been attacked backstage. Stallion said Legado Del Fantasma were responsible for the attack.
When confronted by NXT general manager William Regal, Legado Del Fantasma claimed that they didn’t attack Stallion. Regal told Escobar he’ll be defending his title against Stallion next week. Regal also warned that Escobar, Raul Mendoza, and Joaquin Wilde will suffer serious consequences if Stallion gets mysteriously attacked again.
Escobar found a tarot card on topĀ of his bag after Regal left, seemingly s a warning from Karrion Kross and Scarlett after Escobar mentioned Kross during a promo last week.
Stallion has been in line for a Cruiserweight title shot since winning a fatal five-way number one contender’s match on 205 Live in November.
– The quarterfinals of the men’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will conclude with Undisputed Era’s Adam Cole & Roderick Strong vs. Tommaso Ciampa & Timothy Thatcher and Gran Metalik & Lince Dorado vs. Legado Del Fantasma’s Mendoza & Wilde taking place on next Wednesday’s NXT.. Dakota Kai & Raquel Gonzalez will also face Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter in a women’s Dusty Classic semifinal match on next Wednesday’s show.
Cole & Strong or Ciampa & Thatcher will advance to face The Grizzled Young Veterans in the men’s Dusty Classic semifinals. The team that wins the Metalik & Dorado vs. Mendoza & Wilde match will face MSK in the semifinals.
Gonzalez & Kai defeated Aliyah & Jessi Kamea in a women’s Dusty Classic first round match on NXT this week.
