Backstage Update On Brock Lesnar Not Appearing On Raw, Why the NYC Crowd Was Distracted During Balor vs Reigns

As noted, former WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar was advertised by both The Barclays Center and WWE to appear on WWE Raw this week, however, The Beast did not show up. Instead, Paul Heyman appeared in Lesnar’s place, asked Kurt Angle for Lesnar’s “contractually obligated” title rematch, and was shut down by Angle.

According to PWInsider.com, it looks like there were never any plans to feature Lesnar on Raw this week, as he flew home immediately after WWE SummerSlam on Sunday night, and was not backstage at The Barclays Center on Monday.

Brock Lesnar’s WWE future remains uncertain as of this writing, but the way things played out on Raw this week it does appear The Beast is finished with the company for the time being. Angle did not state when Lesnar will be getting his rematch for the Universal Title but did note it will be a “long time” before he gets another shot. It was also announced on Raw this week that Angle is being forced by Stephanie McMahon to take a vacation, and Angle has been “relieved” of his GM duties, so it remains to be seen when the Lesnar rematch will next be mentioned on WWE TV.

Why Brooklyn Crowd Was Distracted During Finn Balor vs Roman Reigns

It was pretty noticeable on TV Monday night that the crowd in Brooklyn was distracted at one point during the Finn Balor vs Roman Reigns Raw main event.

According to PWInsider, a fan was “absolutely losing it” and cursing at Roman Reigns during the match, throwing up DX crotch chops and jumping around at ringside while the bout was in progress. When the fan was approached by security and told to calm down, he instead directed his tirade at security, who eventually kicked him and a group of people he was with, out of The Barclays Center.
