Alexa Bliss Joins Rarified Air as 5-Time WWE Women’s Champion; A Look at the Modern Roster & Their Title Wins

In case you missed it, the self-proclaimed “Goddess” of the red brand not only won the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match last night, but she immediately cashed in her contract to win back the WWE Raw Women’s Championship.

Alexa Bliss made a surprise appearance in the pay-per-view’s semi-main event, using her briefcase to blindside both Ronda Rousey and Nia Jax. After brutally beating down an already exhausted “Rowdy” Ronda, she dropped the “Irresistible Force” with a killer DDT and connected with a Twisted Bliss from on high to steal back her title for the third time.

This win makes Bliss a five-time champion overall, with three reigns on the Raw brand and two on Smackdown Live. She moves into a two-way tie for third place in the list of WWE’s most decorated women’s superstars on the current roster. “The Boss” Sasha Banks is also sitting on five title wins, including her run as NXT Women’s Champion.

Charlotte Flair is sitting in second place, holding four different titles over seven reigns on Raw, Smackdown Live and NXT. Technically Mickie James, the most decorated superstar in the company today, has only had six runs on WWE television, but considering the legacy she left behind on Impact Wrestling – having an entire different Hall of Fame worthy career – you’re almost required to include her three TNA Knockouts Championship wins.

Just to put some of those numbers in perspective, WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus ended her career as a seven-time WWE Women’s Champion, holding the record for the company’s original women’s title. During the Divas era, AJ Lee and Eve Torres both held that record at only three WWE Divas Championship reigns. So realistically, many of today’s modern stars will end up breaking and re-breaking just about every record, with Charlotte already only one title win of breaking Trish’s record for most WWE women’s title held in a single career.
