Mauro Ranallo welcomed us to another edition of NXT, but before he could run down tonight’s card Johnny Gargano’s music hit to a tremendous reaction from the fans at Full Sail University. Instead of everyone’s favorite underdog, Tommaso Ciampa came out to his old partner’s music and the fans immediately rained down the loudest chorus of boos you’ll ever hear. He eventually got to the ring, drinking in the hatred, and brags about finally breaking the body, mind and soul of Johnny Wrestling. Ciampa said that Johnny may have “won” the match, but he’s not here anymore and åthat means the real winner is…

Candice LeRae made her way to the ring and said she doesn’t even recognize the man that stands before her in the ring. She talked about Ciampa being a part of their family and standing by Johnny’s side at their wedding, and claimed that she was done shedding tears for his cruelty. Ciampa trashed Gargano for sending his “cute, blonde wife” out to fight his battles, and said he lived with them for years and always knew Candice was more of a man than her husband. She slapped him across the face and it looked like for a second he might snap, but instead Tommaso bailed from the ring and made his way up the ramp.

BRANDI LAUREN vs. LACEY EVANS

This lasted about a minute and a half. Lauren gets in a few shots but Lacey easily shook her off and hit a nice moonsault, immediately following up with her finisher to pick up the win. She tried to beat down Lauren post-match but Kairi Sane ran out to make the save, sending her packing from the ring.

Earlier today members of the “media” caught up with Dakota Kai at the WWE Performance Center. I want to know who all these Florida-based wrestling journalists are who are constantly at the P.C. waiting to ask wrestlers all these questions. Anyways… Dakota is asked about NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler and is still terrified and doesn’t want to talk about her at all. Nikki Cross showed up and started rambling incoherently, asking Dakota why she’s scared of Shayna and asking when she’s going to challenge the champion to a match, over and over again.
