Alberto El Patron Does Not Appear at Impact vs Lucha Underground, Backstage Word On His Absence
As seen at tonight’s Impact Wrestling vs Lucha Underground event, Alberto El Patron did not appear in the scheduled main event, which was to feature Patron and Penta 0M vs Austin Aries and Rey Fenix. As a result of El Patron’s absence, the main event was a triple threat featuring 0M vs Aries vs Fenix.
As seen on the Twitch feed for the event, the live crowd at WrestleCon was not happy with El Patron not appearing at the event, as a loud “f**k Del Rio” chant broke out during the main event match.

While the reason why El Patron missed the main event is unconfirmed as of this writing, PWInsider.com is reporting word coming from backstage at the event is that El Patron no-showed. The report adds that at least one source claims El Patron did contact Impact officials to inform them he was sick.
El Patron no-showing the event is odd as he attended the event’s press conference just two hours before the show started, and did an angle with Austin Aries hyping their main event match at the April 22nd Impact Redemption PPV. The angle saw Patron and Aries get into a shoving match, and it ended with a table being thrown and El Patron storming off and leaving in his car. The angle at the press conference was reportedly not intended to write El Patron off the Impact vs LU show, and he was supposed to compete in the main event.
