Lyon reach agreement with Flamengo for João Gomes transfer
Foot Mercato are reporting that Olympique Lyonnais have reached an agreement with Brazilian side Flamengo for the transfer of João Gomes (21).
Whilst an agreement between the two clubs, both owned by John Textor, has been reached, a move is still a way off. According to Foot Mercato, Gomes favours a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers, a club with whom he has already reached an agreement. Wolves have also agreed on a €17m fee with Flamengo, but Lyon are looking to swoop in at the last minute, and steal him from under the noses of the Premier League club.
The hardest part of the deal, as far as Lyon are concerned, is convincing the player of the move. However, Les Gones are doing everything that they can in order to complete the deal, and have sent over management-level staff to convince the player to choose the Ligue 1 club over the Premier League alternative.
