José Mourinho has attempted a charm offensive with PSG
L’Équipe report that this spring has not only been about TV consultant roles for José Mourinho, but also lobbying and that the Portuguese tactician wants to create the idea that he is available for the PSG job.

He has been discretely activating his French contact book, talking to agents, former great players. And more directly, via his own resources, creating the idea that he could be the perfect solution for the Emir of Qatar in his request to acquire the Champions’ League.
A claim that the Emir is not totally unfriendly towards: Doha has been questioning lately whether or not Thomas Tuchel “is a winner”. Mourinho has spent a considerable amount of time in France lately, at Lille, where he has nearly fallen in love with Nicolas Pépé, but also in Paris. Mourinho’s Paris seduction operation is not so naked that he has put his CV down in Doha, but is happening via lobbying, small approaches here and there.
The former Manchester United manager has always had natural proximity with PSG Sporting Director Antero Henrique. The ex-FC Porto representative was notably a little involved in placing Mourinho’s recent assistant, Rui Faria, as the manager of Al-Duhail in Qatar.
The newspaper also confirms that QSI – the PSG owners – are in contact with AS Roma over purchasing the club, despite James Pallotta’s denials.
AS Roma, who are looking for a new coach to replace interim boss Claudio Ranieri, have held multiple meetings with Mourinho, with sources telling L’Équipe that talks have advanced well, but that the Portuguese tactician will only take up the job if they qualify for Champions’ League football. He does not want to join a club not in Europe’s premier competition.
