St Étienne, Lyon & Athletic Bilbao fighting to sign Aymeric Laporte’s brother

Sud-Ouest report today that Manchester City central defender Aymeric Laporte’s bother, Léo, is the subject of significant interest from St Étienne, Lyon and Spanish outfit Athletic Bilbao.

The 14-year-old is a forward playing for US Agen Football, where his older brother was also put through his paces at youth level.

Last week at Nérac, in difficult playing conditions, Léo Laporte scored a quadruple under the watchful eye of an Athletic Bilbao scout, who was impressed by the player’s power, and intends to return to watch Léo again this Saturday for another game in Agen.

Lyon are also watching the player, with Head of Recruitment Florian Maurice first remarking on the player when he played for Aquitaine in a game at Bordeaux’s training ground.

St Étienne representative Dominique Rocheteau has also called Léo’s dad to offer the teen a trial with St Étienne. He is in his final year of his current youth cycle.
