Claude Makélélé is appointed as KAS Eupen manager

Belgian side KAS Eupen have made the surprising announcement this morning that they have hired former French international and Chelsea midfielder Claude Makélélé as their new manager on a 2.5 year contract.

Makélélé has left his position as an assistant coach for Premier League side Swansea and will be hoping that this stint with Eupen is successful, having previously failed as a manager at SC Bastia.

Eupen find themselves at the bottom of the Belgian 1st division with 10 points after 14 games played.
