Jean-Michaël Seri has agreed personal terms with Barcelona
Nice midfielder Jean Seri has agreed personal terms over a four-year contract with Spanish heavyweights Barcelona, after details regarding a move were revealed by Get French Football News yesterday.
Seri’s quick-moving transfer, if concluded, would come much to the surprise of OGC Nice officials and coaching staff including first-team boss Lucien Favre.
Nice want to structure a deal that, with bonuses, will reach considerably higher than the base €40m release clause figure. L’Équipe report that this private agreement between OGC Nice and the player, which would have allowed Seri to join a club of his choosing if they offered €40m, expired on the 15th of July, citing Nice board members. This means that Nice can ask for whatever they want from the Catalan club. The first negotiations between Barcelona and OGC Nice are expected to begin today.
Speaking to The Guardian, Seri’s representatives deny that their €40m agreement with OGC Nice has expired.

It is highly unlikely that any proposal from a Premier League club will be given much attention, Barcelona has always been Seri’s dream destination.
