With their place in the next round already confirmed, Chelsea have the opportunity to rotate their squad somewhat and Sarri is set make a number of changes.
The Italian coach was left incensed by the nature of his side’s capitulation against Spurs at the weekend and is demanding a serious improvement ahead of a busy December.
“It is an important match because we want to see a reaction,” Sarri told reporters. “But I also want to see a reaction in the next Premier League match and see that we have learnt our lesson.
“I think I will make big changes to the side because in December we have to play 10 matches so now we need to change, regardless of the last result.”
The defeat against Spurs was the Blues’ first of the season and fans will be hoping that it was just a blip, rather than the early sign of decline.
