Queen Elizabeth Cracks a Rare Joke, and It’s About Donald Trump and Barack Obama

The TV special discusses The Queen’s Canopy, an environmental project meant to help protect forests around the world. In a clip from the special that was released this week though, Queen Elizabeth has Americans on her mind instead. 

As the queen and broadcaster Sir David Attenborough walk while discussing trees, they are interrupted by the sound of helicopters above.

“Why do they go ’round and ’round when you want to talk? Sounds like President Trump,” she said, giving a sly smile. “Or President Obama.”

The hilarious and regrettably short mention of the U.S. presidents began and ended there, but Queen Elizabeth’s thoughts on conservation will continue throughout the full documentary, which airs April 16 on ITV in the U.K.
