Neymar could face at least a 5-match suspension after throwing a punch at a Rennes fan last night
Our colleagues at Foot Mercato report that the French Football Federation could suspend PSG attacker Neymar for at least 5 matches after he appeared to throw a punch at a Rennes fan upon collection of his Coupe de France runners-up medal last night.
If the designated senior match official included the incident in his report last night, then the FFF’s Disciplinary Committee is automatically obliged to assess the series of events that occurred.

If the match official did not include Neymar’s moment of madness in the match report, then the FFF can still decide to investigate the incident via its Ethics Committee.
If the FFF open an investigation into the incident, they would likely find Neymar guilty of “brutality or punches not causing an injury or resulting in an injury found by medical certificate without Temporary Work Disability (ITT) to a member of the public.”
If this were to occur, then Neymar would likely face at least a 5-match ban that would apply to all French domestic competitions…
