While Crime Rate Soars, UP CM Yogi Adityanath Clears ‘Cow Cess’ To Protect Stray Cattle

On Tuesday, the Uttar Pradesh cabinet approved a plan to set up and run temporary ‘gauvansh ashray asthals’ or cow shelters. The plan has been approved under the urban and rural civic bodies in order to take proper care of stray cattle.

At a state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the plan was okayed and he said that a “cow welfare cess” will be imposed for the same.

The official said temporary cowsheds (gaushalas) will be opened in all villages, panchayats, municipalities, nagar panchayats and municipal corporations.
