In A First, Kerala Gets Specially Trained All-Woman Police Battalion

Passing out parade of the first all-woman battalion in the state will be held at the Kerala Police Academy here on Tuesday. The battalion is also the first batch to be trained under women instructors.
Another unique facet of the batch is that out of the 578 members, 44 have undergone commando training- including jungle operations, weaponry, anti-terror operations–under agencies like NSG.

According to the academy sources, the women commandos were selected for special training after inviting ‘expression of interests’ from them. Subsequently, they were screened for their physical and mental stamina.
