Gargano On Desire To Be A Wrestler, Shows His Chubby Kid Photos

Before Johnny Gargano became a WWE NXT Superstar, he used to be a chubby kid at a younger age. Gargano would recently take to Twitter to post some of those photos and even comment on his desire to be a wrestler.
“These photos from WWE’s ‘Before they were Superstars’ article brought up a few questions. Yes. That’s really me. I was a chubby kid and I was consistently told I’d never be a wrestler. Did I let that stop me? No. Don’t listen to the noise. Be yourself and go live your dream.”
Gargano was originally scheduled to battle Tommaso Ciampa for The NXT Title at NXT TakeOver: New York on April 5th before it was announced that Ciampa went down with a neck injury. Ciampa would undergo neck surgery earlier this month and was forced to vacate The NXT Title.

WWE COO Triple H announced during this past Wednesday night’s episode of NXT TV that Johnny Gargano would still be fighting for The NXT Title at TakeOver: New York, but he will now be facing a new opponent. A Fatal 5-Way Match would then take place pitting Adam Cole, Ricochet, Aleister Black, Velveteen Dream & Matt Riddle against each other with the winner getting the title shot. After hitting the last shot, Cole would pin Ricochet for the win.
