Jeff Hardy Update, More on Riddle Debuting, WWE Comments

It was previously reported that WWE seemed to initially push an injury angle for Jeff Hardy after his Hell in a Cell Match against Randy Orton and he was kept off of SmackDown two nights later. However, Jeff was back in action at house shows that weekend and WWE Officials have confirmed that he is going to be wrestling this weekend as well. As a result, it doesn’t appear as if any long term injury angle will be happening and Hardy is likely going to be back on TV sooner rather than later.
One of the biggest signees in the history of NXT is none other than Matt Riddle. He has made his mark in every promotion that he has competed for and he has even become a champion in each of those promotions, which is the reason why WWE signed him under The NXT Brand. Matt Riddle was rumored to be making his NXT in-ring debut at a future TakeOver Event against Kassius Ohno, but NXT fans didn’t wait that long to see Riddle compete in an NXT ring as it was previously reported that he made his official debut for NXT last night at a house show in Sanford, Florida. Riddle defeated Fabian Archer after hitting a powerbomb followed by a knee strike. Much like he did while on the indies, Riddle wrestled barefoot. Riddle’s final indie appearance will be for PROGRESS at Wembley Arena in England on September 30th against Mark Haskins.
As previously reported, Riddle recently started training at The WWE Performance Center and has moved to Orlando, or Brolando as he is calling it. After Riddle made his official NXT in-ring debut, WWE released a statement on NXT’s newest blockbuster signee.

Below is WWE’s announcement on the live event debut along with comments from Riddle and more photos and videos from the match:
Matt Riddle Makes NXT Live Event Debut
The King Of Bros Has Arrived.
NXT’s newest blockbuster signee, former UFC fighter and independent wrestling champion Matt Riddle, made his in-ring debut tonight at a Live Event in Sanford, Fla., taking on Fabian Aichner.

Once a member of UFC’s welterweight division, Riddle left mixed martial arts in 2014 to pursue a career in sports-entertainment. He turned into the breakout star of the independent ranks, capturing titles in North America and Europe, before signing with NXT this summer.
Introduced as NXT’s newest Superstar at TakeOver: Brooklyn IV in August, Riddle tweeted Thursday night that he couldn’t wait to make his NXT debut, writing that it had “been a while since I’ve heard the roar of a crowd.”
Judging by the reaction of the NXT Universe in Sanford, Riddle’s wait is over.
