North remains first, Docken fifth in the latest national rankings

EDMOND, Okla. – Two Vikings remain in the top-five of the Division II Wrestling Coaches Association individual rankings in a release on Wednesday. TJ North remains at the No. 1 spot at 125-pounds, while Jayd Docken stays at the No. 5 spot for a second consecutive release at 197-pounds.

A native of Elk Point, S.D., North continues to hold onto his No.1 billing at 125-pounds with an 18-3 record. North also remains at the No. 1 spot in the Super Region Three rankings and holds the top spot in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference rankings.

At 197-pounds, Docken also remains at the No. 5 spot. A native of Winner, S.D., Docken owns a 21-3 record after going 2-0 this past weekend behind a pin and a major decision. Docken’s only Division II loss comes from No. 4 Kenny Breaux of Lindenwood at the Ranger Duals on Jan. 17. Docken also ranks No. 4 in the Super Region Three rankings and No. 1 in the NSIC version.

NSIC rival St. Cloud State took over the top spot for the first time this season after coming in at the No. 2 spot in the last release on Jan. 28. Upper Iowa remains at the No. 10 spot, both representing the NSIC.

Augustana returns to action on Thursday, Jan. 12 hosting No. 10 Upper Iowa. First match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. in the Elmen Center.
