How Did Vince React To Fans Walking Out On Reigns’ Backlash Match

Following Sunday’s WWE Backlash pay-per-view, there was a lot of talk about the fans leaving during the main event and the close-up shot of fans leaving immediately after Roman Reigns defeated Samoa Joe.
It should have come off as the biggest sign to WWE that Reigns is not the guy or, at the very least, they should consider turning him heel and revisit a babyface run in the future.
At this point, there is nothing to indicate that Vince McMahon is changing his mind on Reigns. Here is what someone who was backstage on Sunday night told WrestlingNews when asked about McMahon’s reaction to the fans walking out:

“Look, there is work that needs to be done to get [Reigns] over but the whole idea that fans were walking out because they were protesting is absurd. Vince no sold it backstage and he chalked it up to the show running late until 11:30. Fans wanted to beat the traffic and kids needed to go to school on Monday. Simple as that. If Vince was upset he sure didn’t show it backstage. He wasn’t expecting this massive face reaction in the New York market. It was business as usual and it didn’t seem to bother him.”
Reigns is entering a feud with Jinder Mahal so it’s clear that they are staying the course with him as a babyface, at least for now. It’s not clear where things are headed next for him and Brock Lesnar. The only thing known is that Lesnar is not scheduled for the Money In The Bank pay-per-view. If McMahon plans on putting the belt on Reigns then it won’t happen until the summer during the July pay-per-view or at SummerSlam.
