Summerslam Heatwave Tour
August 3rd, 2019
Toledo, Ohio
Huntington Center

Firstly the people were slow to get there. it ended up being about half full, so as full as a smackdown taping if no one sat on the hard camera side. so around 3-4,000.

I saw pictures from the previous night in fort wayne, it had a much larger crowd than fort wayne considering it was held in the main arena and fort wayne had theirs in the convention hall next door.

To start, there was a ten bell salute to Harley Race.

Triple threat match for the US title
AJ styles Vs. Ricochet Vs. Cesaro
Styles comes out and totally trashes Toledo because they were loudly cheering him during his entrance, gets in Kayla Braxton’s face who was doing ring announcer duties. It was a great match considering it wasn’t on tv. Cesaro did the giant swing!! he got to THIRTY! Tons of high spots and false finishes. Styles gets the win after interference from the OC

Dana Brooke Vs. Sarah Logan
Sarah has new music and a new Titan Tron. Dana got a good pop for being from Cleveland. It was a really rough, great back and forth match. The whole crowd audibly groaned when Sarah put Dana in the leg submission. She’s definitely over. Dana wins with the swanton bomb

Becky Lynch Vs. Lacey Evans
Lacey Evans jumps Becky during her entrance and gives her the woman’s right. Match doesn’t get started and Becky is helped to the back.

Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins Vs. The Revival
The revival are super heels if there was any question, they were ready to jump the railing a few times on fans who got bent out of shape. Very very good at getting the crowd riled up..Not a bad match! it was pretty good actually. Ryder and Hawkins get the win by pinfall

Becky Lynch Vs. Lacey Evans
Very good match here! They seem to be gelling and there were no screw ups like we see on Raw from time to time. Lacey is superhuman with what she can do. The crowd was all over her. WWE has their new heel. Becky wins with the dis arm her. Becky stays around and signs autographs and pictures.

Intermission****

Robert Rood Vs. No Way Jose. No conga line. Dammit. Ah well, it was a basic match but people were into it. Jose wins with the school boy. Roode loses his mind and says he needs another opponent and he’s not leaving until he gets what he wants.

Braun Strowman’s music hits and people lose it. Strowman destroys Roode and Roode runs away.

Out comes Sami Zayn and the boos are everywhere. Sami tries to reason with Braun and tells him he doesn’t need to have a match in Toledo (cue massive boos).

Braun Strowman Vs. Sami Zayn. Sami cheapshots Braun with a chair for awhile and almost gets a win…..until Braun gets up. He was just toying with him, tossing his everywhere. Braun destroys Sami and does the powerslam for the win.

Braun stays and shakes hands, takes pics, etc. he’s massively over.

Seth Rollins Vs. Baron Corbin
No Holds Barred Match
Corbin comes to the ring and harasses Kayla Braxton, dogs Toledo. Seth Rollins makes the save and he looks like he’s still hurt from last Monday. This was nearly an ECW match. they were all over the area, I sincerely mean that. Over the railing, etc. The crowd was hot all match long here. A lot of near falls on Seth. Seth is about to put Baron away and here comes Lacey Evans to distract the ref, she knocks Seth off the top rope and Corbin puts Seth through a table for a 2.99999 fall and kicks out.

All of a sudden Becky Lynch comes from under the ring and the crowd loses their collective minds. She starts chasing Lacey around with a kendo stick and she jumps in the ring.

Corbin is about to jump her, he turns away and concentrates on Seth….. Becky turns into the Sandman and unleashed hell on his back with the kendo stick.

They get rid of Lacey. Becky and Seth put Corbin through a table and Seth curb stomps him for the win.

Very nice show even if half the roster was AWOL which made it a bit strange since it was the SummerSlam heatwave tour.

This might be a test show to bring a Raw taping to toledo as WWE has exclusively had Smackdown tapings in Toledo for almost a decade. This is the first house show in Toledo in years.
