— According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Becky Lynch turning on Charlotte Flair is not something that surprised WWE officials. The entire storyline has been planned from day one with the expectation that the audience in New York would pop bigtime for Lynch attacking Flair as she has been built as an underdog babyface. Ultimately, it is not a heel turn much like what has happened with the Sasha Banks and Bayley storyline over on Raw.

— WWE’s plans for AJ Styles and Samoa Joe is for them to prolong that storyline at least through the next PPV which is why their SummerSlam match ended without a clean winner. Dave Meltzer suggests that WWE wants Styles to have a lengthy title reign, perhaps culminating in a match against Daniel Bryan later this year or next year.
