AEW Dynamite video highlights: Sting speaks to Cody Rhodes
Sting made his second AEW appearance on last night’s Dynamite, interacting with Cody Rhodes, Arn Anderson, Tony Schiavone, and Darby Allin.
Cody, Anderson, and Schiavone were in the ring as Allin looked on from the upper deck of the arena. After Sting entered, Anderson said that for now, he would listen to Sting’s agenda and leave the ring to him. The announcers referenced Anderson’s long history with Sting.
Sting then addressed Schiavone, hugged him, and asked Schiavone to give him his trademark introduction. After Schiavone obliged, he left the ring to Cody and Sting.
Sting told Cody that he has no business with him right now. He said that he planned to interact with the AEW fans and be here for a long time. He said being back on TNT felt familiar to him.
Then, referencing Allin watching from above, Sting said that lots of things feel familiar to him in AEW. Sting then left Cody after a patronizing “See you around, kid.”
Shaquille O’Neal also appeared on last night’s show in an interview segment with Schiavone and Brandi Rhodes. Shaq referenced Jade Cargill’s appearance with Cody and said that he’s a big fan of hers, but also said that she went too far in later attacking Brandi.
Shaq then mentioned that Brandi vs. Cargill would be great and said that he can’t wait to see it, and also said that Brandi could learn a thing or two from Cargill. Brandi ended the segment by swearing at Shaq and throwing a glass of water on him.
New AEW World Champion Kenny Omega made an appearance with Impact Wrestling executive Don Callis. Omega and Callis entered via helicopter. The two said that their plan had been years in the making, but they gave no indication as to what the next phase of their operation entails.
In the show’s main event, MJF defeated Orange Cassidy to win the Dynamite Diamond Ring for the second consecutive year. After a match that saw interference from Best Friends, Top Flight, Brandon Cutler, Varsity Blondes, and The Inner Circle, Miro hit Cassidy with a lariat, allowing MJF to steal the pin.
Earlier in the show during the Inner Circle ultimatum, the group decided to remain united.
