Leeds United option to buy Illan Meslier activated, 3-year contract in the offing

Championship side Leeds United have activated an obligation to buy goalkeeper Illan Meslier after earning promotion to the Premier League, according to our colleagues at Foot Mercato.

The 20-year-old will be part of the Whites’ Premier League adventure, having played 10 matches in the Championship season, and will thus not be returning to FC Lorient.

LUFC had an obligation to buy the French youth international in the event of promotion. The player’s entourage is expected to meet with Leeds next week to finalise contractual details for the player on a 3-year deal.
